Meet The Coaches
The following coaches are leading the Bend United Lacrosse Program

Taylor Pomerenk
Varsity Head Coach
This will be my 4th year coaching with Bend United. I played on Bend United for four years throughout high school. I’m currently enrolled in OSU Cascades and will receive a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology- with hopes to pursue a career in Physical Therapy. Outside of lacrosse, I enjoy being outdoors and enjoying beautiful Central Oregon!

Alex Jennings
Varsity Assistant Coach

Ron Hand
Junior Varsity Head Coach
Happy grandpa to 6 month old Lakeston. Graduated from Syracuse university a long time ago but gleaned enough lacrosse by watching to take on coaching roles beginning with Parks and Rec and more recently High School boy's programs. Finally graduated to coaching the girl's game. Enough said. Go United.

Kendall Daugherty
Junior Varsity Assistant Coach
Kendall moved down to Bend from Portland last May and is currently a graduate student at OSU Cascades studying School Counseling. Kendall played lacrosse throughout high school and in college at Pacific Lutheran University in WA. She has coached both middle school and high school teams in OR and WA for several years and is excited to help out this season! Like most Oregonians, Kendall enjoys being outdoors during her free time.

Hilary Gilmore
Middle School Head Coach
I learned this great game as a junior in high school in Maryland. Though I did not play in college I wound up coaching high school lacrosse (and field hockey) at a private school outside of Boston for 8 years. When my family moved to Oregon in the mid-1980's I was enlisted to help coach the West Linn High School girls’ varsity team; at that time there were not many teams in the valley and West Linn was always battling out top position with Lakeridge. Ultimately the sport grew over there and my team won two State Championships in 1992 and 1993. When we moved to Bend I missed coaching so much that I decided to start a united girl’s team. That first year our team consisted mostly of Bend and Mountain View girls and we played a JV schedule versus valley teams. For many years we continued to be Bend United and with Sean Hansen's excellent coaching helped grow the skill level and our competitiveness improved. Eventually, the numbers from Summit grew and the movement to split into two teams came about.
When that occurred, I stepped aside and have been happily coaching middle school Park and Rec teams. As a believer in fundamentals, working with middle school girls is a perfect fit for me

Malie Neese
Middle School Assistant Coach
Born and raised in Wyoming, athletics were my whole childhood. During my undergrad in Elementary Education, I was able to play collegiate lacrosse for the University of Stirling, in Stirling, Scotland and the University of Wyoming, in Laramie, Wyoming, for the remaining seasons. I also coached simultaneously for a middle school girls team in Rock Springs, Wyoming. Bend was my next stop for graduate school in accreditation for School Counseling. Essentially, my concentration of passion is for youth and athletics. So, getting into the lacrosse community in Bend has been a prime aspiration.
